About the Foundation

Founded on a simple conviction: opportunity should not depend on where a child is born.

Established in 2018 in memory of Sardar Jagjit Singh, the Foundation carries forward his belief that education is the surest path out of poverty. We work where the need is greatest, alongside the people who know their communities best.

To ensure every child we reach completes a quality education, grows up safe and healthy, and belongs to a community with the means to thrive.

Three programmes, one goal: a childhood that leads somewhere.

Education comes first. Children's welfare makes learning possible. Social upliftment makes it last. Each programme strengthens the other two.

01Our first and foremost priority

Education

Keeping children in school, and helping them succeed there.

Education is the foundation of every other outcome we care about. From first enrolment to first job, we remove the barriers that push children out of classrooms and invest in the quality of what happens inside them.

  • Scholarships & school fees

    Full and partial scholarships covering fees, uniforms, books and transport for children from low-income families.

  • Learning centres

    After-school and bridge-course centres with trained facilitators for foundational literacy and numeracy.

  • Digital classrooms

    Equipping government schools with devices, connectivity and curated digital content.

  • Teacher development

    Training and mentoring programmes that raise teaching quality where it matters most.

02Safe, healthy and nourished childhoods

Children Welfare

A child cannot learn if they are hungry, unwell or unsafe.

Our welfare work wraps around our education programmes so that the children we reach are healthy enough to attend, nourished enough to focus, and protected enough to simply be children.

  • Nutrition support

    Daily mid-day meals and take-home rations at learning centres and partner schools.

  • Health camps

    Regular paediatric, dental and eye-care camps with follow-up treatment and referrals.

  • Early childhood care

    Support for anganwadi centres with play-based learning materials and caregiver training.

  • Child protection

    Awareness sessions, safe spaces and linkages with local child-protection authorities.

03Stronger families, stronger communities

Social Upliftment

Lifting the community that raises the child.

Children thrive when their families and neighbourhoods do. We invest in livelihoods, women's self-help groups and basic community infrastructure so gains in education last for generations.

  • Women's livelihoods

    Skill training, seed grants and market linkages for self-help groups and micro-enterprises.

  • Community health

    Awareness drives on sanitation, maternal health and preventive care, led by trained local volunteers.

  • Clean water & sanitation

    Handpump repair, water filtration units and household toilet construction in partner villages.

  • Elder & disability support

    Assistive devices, pension-scheme facilitation and home-visit programmes for the most vulnerable.
